Providing accessible arts educational programs
that nurture creativity, connection and healing
for all members of our island communities.
For almost 20 years, the mandate of the Ptarmigan Society has been to create educational arts programs that are collaborative, inclusive, and fun. We strongly believe that our activities nurture both creative development and healthy relationships within our island communities that will bear fruit for many years to come.
To ensure that our workshops and events are non-discriminatory, the Ptarmigan Society strives to make our programs affordable, if not free of charge, as often as possible. As result, we rely on donations from government agencies, corporate sponsors and private individuals, and couldn’t operate without your support. By becoming a supporter of the Ptarmigan Society, you can help enrich the quality of life for all members of our island communities. Our programs provide a variety of benefits to all participants, including creating employment, cultivating artistic talent, enhancing self-esteem and self-expression, decreasing social isolation, nurturing communication and relationship skills, as well as celebrating the cultural heritage of the Gulf Islands.
How you can support the Ptarmigan Society:
Individual Donations – Whether a one-time donation or regular, monthly contributions, donations of any amount are warmly welcomed and truly make a significant difference. Please consider the Ptarmigan Society in your estate plans to ensure the future operation of our educational arts programs.
Donations in Kind – Ptarmigan also welcomes ‘donations in kind’ that are eligible for tax benefits to assist us with the ongoing operation of our programs, including musical instruments, art supplies, computers, A/V equipment rentals, printing of brochures, posters and t-shirts, professional accounting or legal services, catering for workshops, BC Ferry vouchers and other transportation expenses, such a passenger van or rental vehicles.
Corporate and Business Support – Corporate support of the Ptarmigan Music and Theatre Society provides a unique opportunity to combine education and performance arts with marketing, public relations and entertainment benefits.
Please note that we would be happy to target your donation to one of our specific programs (Mosaic for Children, Taking Flight for Seniors, Music for Special Needs for People with Disabilities or our Community Events), or to your specific area (Pender, Mayne, Galiano, Saturna, Salt Spring or Vancouver Islands). Feel free to contact us if you have any specific intentions for your donation.
