FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PTARMIGAN SOCIETY’S COMMUNITY EVENTS

Celebrating the Cultural Heritage of the Gulf Islands

Southern Gulf Islands, British Columbia – April, 2009

The Ptarmigan Music & Theatre Society is pleased to announce their upcoming Community Events for 2009 throughout the southern Gulf Islands, including Pender, Mayne, Galiano, Saturna and Salt Spring Islands. Ptarmigan takes pride in celebrating the cultural heritage of the Gulf Islands by participating in various community events throughout the year, including school programs, festivals, fairs and summer camps.

Drawing on a roster of over 30 different Gulf Island artists, Ptarmigan’s performances include music, visual arts, drama, dance and audio visual components, which are sure to delight and entertain their audiences of all ages. At the same time, Ptarmigan collaborates with a range of community organizations in the true spirit of community building, including public libraries, museums, community centers, theatre companies and music & conservancy societies.

Please check the newly re-designed Ptarmigan Society website for their ongoing Community Events at www.ptarmigansociety.org.

To ensure their workshops and events are non-discriminatory, the Ptarmigan Society strives to make their programs affordable, if not free of charge, as often as possible. As result, Ptarmigan relies on donations from government agencies, corporate sponsors and private individuals, and couldn’t operate without community support. Please note that the Ptarmigan Music & Theatre Society is a registered charity and issues tax receipts for financial donations or donations in kind, including musical instruments, art supplies, computers, A/V equipment, t-shirts, or alternately welcomes professional accounting and legal services, catering for workshops, printing of brochures and posters, BC Ferry vouchers and other transportation expenses to assist them in their operations.

Come join in on the fun at the Ptarmigan Society’s upcoming Community Events. Whether you play, sing and dance or simply sit back, relax and enjoy, all are welcome and we look forward to seeing you soon!
